Escape Rooms and Marketing - How The Popular Trend is a New Way of Branding

 

Escape Games have become the latest trend and it seems that once they hit the market, they started popping up everywhere. More and more people are trying out Escape Rooms, giving themselves and friends some challenging fun to try out as a team.

The Verge recently talked about how Escape Rooms have become "the future of advertising." This couldn't be more true, as tons of Escape Game owners have used themes from movies and television shows, especially popular ones such as Game of Thrones and Prison Break.

By using themes like this, not only do Escape Game owners drag in fans of the movie or television show they worked their theme around, they're also creating an additional source of advertising for that movie or show.

Television networks have also been using Escape Games to market themselves in a new way. For example, according to The Verge, FOX created a special Exorcist-themed Escape Room in Los Angeles and there have been various rooms tied to The Legend of Zelda and the Resident Evil series as well. 

HBO was another network that took advantage of Escape Room marketing. The television network turned an event space in downtown Austin, Texas into a set of three Escape Rooms, from their three most popular shows. 

With tons of large companies already jumping on the bandwagon, it will be no surprise as more and more Escape Rooms are created to help brand.
